About the Job
Reporting to the Head of IR, the IR Analyst is responsible for supporting the IR function in executing the global investor relations program. The IR Analyst would assist in educating and updating investors about the company to ensure that the company is properly valued. Also, the IR Analyst would work closely with senior management to keep them informed of investor sentiment while ensuring consistent messaging through all communication vehicles.
About the Team
The IR Analyst would work directly with the Head of Investor Relations and the Principal Investor Relations Analyst. The team liases between internal management and external investors ensuring that Akamai is properly valued.
Responsibilities:
* Assists in keeping shareholders knowledgeable about the company (and implicitly encourages them to buy and hold).
* Coordinates with the Head of IR to find, support, and encourage prospective investors by broadening awareness and interest through conferences, presentations, meetings, etc.
* Drafts conference call scripts, Q&A documents, and actively attends prep sessions.
* Provides a morning market summary report to the IR team and members of senior management that highlights key market drivers that may affect the daily stock price.
* Prepares competitive intelligence from Wall Street to senior members of the management team.
* Collaborates with the marketing and PR teams on and assists with special events.
* Updates the IR website in accordance with disclosure policy.
* Provides periodic updates about the company's stock price, analysts' estimates, investor perceptions, industries and peer company performance, and the stock market to the senior members of the management team.
* Assists in the development of presentations for all investor events (earnings, conferences, annual meetings, etc.).
* Prepares and may travel with Senior Leadership to investor conferences/roadshows throughout the United States.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business.
* Minimum of 1 year experience in investor relations, finance, marketing, planning and development, or similarly broad. financial positions for a global corporation.
Desired Qualifications
* Strong financial and investment analysis skills, oral and written communication skills, and presentation ability.
* Working knowledge of the financial and investment markets.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish new relationships quickly.
* An understanding of strategic communication, public relations, marketing, advertising, and the media.
* Experience with the technology industry required with familiarity with the internet software industry preferred.
* An energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player and individual contributor.
* A person with an insatiable appetite to learn more.
* Extremely strong working knowledge of financial models.
* Enviable spoken and written communications abilities.
* Collaborative mentality that can work across functional departments and leadership levels.
