About the Job

Can you think like an adversary without acting like one? We are looking for a seasoned leader with a love of technology and with a history of accomplishments as a security practitioner. As Senior Manager of Enterprise Security, you will lead a distributed team of Engineers and Analysts and will participate in a cross-functional architecture team. You will work closely with application owners, developers, business managers, security engineers and other technologists across the enterprise, and will collaborate with members of Akamai’s InfoSec team.

About the Team

The Enterprise Security Services team currently consists of eight full-time, globally distributed staff members: five Engineers and three Analysts.

The team engages across the Akamai organization in support of ongoing initiatives, ensuring that best practices for security and risk management are embedded in project and process lifecycles. In conjunction with the Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture team, the team provides security architecture oversight and assists with design and development of secure application capabilities and solutions. As needed, the team:

* Investigates and provides mitigation strategies for security incidents or identified vulnerabilities
* Conducts application security/risk reviews and forensics analysis
* Works with third-party vendors to perform penetration testing and threat assessments of Akamai’s enterprise environment
* Provides operational support to track, manage, and mitigate all forms of malware, vulnerabilities, and associated threats
* Assesses and tracks risk and compliance issues across all enterprise infrastructure and applications

Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager of Enterprise Security is responsible for leading the enterprise information security function in accordance with established policies and guidelines while balancing the appropriate level of risk in support of the business objectives. Specific responsibilities include:

* Conduct risk assessments for existing applications and those under development or being considered for purchase
* Serve as an information security advisor to business and IT partners, establishing trust relationships through active engagement and collaboration.
* Create appropriate measures and metrics related to the development and management of our security infrastructure and regularly communicate them to the CIO leadership team
* Manage and evolve the IT Risk Register and provide regular updates on progress against objectives
* Design and implement security awareness educational initiatives and training processes for Akamai employees
* Provide talent management of security/risk professionals – attract & retain high caliber staff, challenge individuals to achieve stretching targets, coach/mentor for personal growth

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
* 7+ years of experience in information security and/or IT risk management
* 5 + years of hands-on experience as a security practitioner, implementing a variety of solutions across multiple disciplines
* 3+ years of managing a team of security professionals
* 5+ years of experience commercial and open source security applications and technologies (e.g. malware prevention, DLP, IDS/IDP, cryptography, vulnerability scanning and penetration testing), as well as related protocols and tools (e.g. SSH, SSL/TLS, snort, port scanners, rootkit detectors, etc.)
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Security or similar Engineering Discipline

Desired Qualifications
* Demonstrable knowledge of enterprise IT risks - threat tactics, techniques, and procedures –and application of relevant techniques and tools, e.g. network and application penetration tests
* Implementation of IT controls to meet business, security or regulatory standards (e.g. SOX, PCI) and frameworks (e.g. NIST, OCTAVE, ISO27k)
* Recent experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies
* Programming/scripting experience – one or more of: C, C++, Java, Perl, PHP, Python, shell
