The Cloud Optimization space is thriving and Akamai is growing with it! We are looking for a Manager in the Emerging Products BU to help run the team developing Akamai technology to accelerate Enterprise environments.

The Enterprise Cloud space is thriving and Akamai is growing with it! We're looking for top-notch technical staff to create core technology to deliver a secure, accelerated experience to enterprise customers. Our development environment is fast paced and ambitious. This software will run on a large network of geographically distributed servers and embedded devices, as well as in data centers and branch offices, presenting unique challenges and requiring creative designs. Surrounded by Akamai's innovation driven culture, you'll apply your in-depth knowledge of networking and security to create unique and powerful solutions to today's application acceleration challenges.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

- Lead a small team to create high performance software to accelerate enterprise-class applications.
- Run the day-to-day responsibilities for leading the team in support of the team’s mission.
- Project planning and prioritization.
- Personnel management (hiring, performance management, career development, mentoring).
- Maintaining alignment and good communication with the group’s stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar engineering field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience managing a small engineering team.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in professional programming.

Desired Qualifications

- Experience in the Application Acceleration and/or WAN Optimization space.
- Knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP, and DNS.
- Ability to reason about complex systems.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, results orientated team.
- Passion to understand, learn, dissect and improve new technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
