About the Job
The Senior Security Sales Executive is a quota carrying sales professional with deep security industry knowledge spanning traditional security disciplines and emerging security trends. The primary goal of the Security Sales Specialist is to partner with the direct sales force to increase their security solution pipeline and over achieve unit and GMRR targets in a defined territory. By leveraging a strong security and technical background, the Senior Security Sales Specialist will partner with Akamai Sales teams to deepen Akamai’s standing in the industry, direct executive-level customer engagement and close strategic deals.

About the Team
This role will report into the Strategic Product Sales team. The security sales team is charged with driving sales growth, growth that must emanate from the whole of the Akamai security product portfolio and must far exceed the competitors’ growth rates and be comprised of both new customer capture and expansion within our existing customer base. The team operates as a highly charged unit, one that thrives on exceeding goals, servicing customers and operates with integrity at its core.

Responsibilities:

* Is an experienced quota-carrying sales professional with a proven sales record, deep IT security industry knowledge, strong business acumen and sales skills.
* Is principally and primarily responsible for generating new sales through individual sales efforts, teaming with Akamai channel partners and enabling their Akamai account executive counterparts.
* Will drive Security Product adoption of Akamai’s new and emerging technologies across all industry verticals within the Southern California region and into both existing and greenfield customer accounts.
* Will report into the Regional Sales Manager Security Sales.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
* 7+ years IT sales experience to large enterprise accounts.
* 3+ years IT security sales experience.

Desired Qulaifications
* A demonstrated record of over-achieving quarterly and annual sales goals.
* Deep security industry knowledge spanning traditional IT security disciplines and including IT network and/or internet security products and services.
* Has strong Boston and Hartford-based enterprise customer relationships.
* Can successfully execute complex sales cycles with CXOs.
* Has experience selling complex solutions to Global 2000 companies.
* Formal sales training including On-Target Selling, Target Account Selling, Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling.
