About the Job
The Inside Sales Security Specialist is a quota carrying sales professional with security industry knowledge spanning traditional security disciplines and emerging security trends. The primary goal of the Security Sales Specialist is to partner with the inside sales team as a Security SME to increase their security solution pipeline and over achieve unit and GMRR targets in a defined territory.
About the Team
This role will report into the Regional Sales Manager – Emerging Markets Akamai Security Sales. This team is responsible for driving the adoption of our new and emerging security solutions across all verticals within North America.
Responsibilities:
* Drive Security Product adoption with existing customers as well as new prospects.
* Manage the pipeline for Security products within Inside Sales.
* Evangelize Akamai’s Security portfolio internally (with sales) and externally to customers and prospects.
* Work closely with the Inside Sales Management Team to coordinate security related campaigns and promotions to drive net new customers.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
* 4+ years of Inside Sales experience.
* 2+ years of experience in the network and/or application secuirty field.
Desired Qualifications
* Proven experience of being persuasive, influential and professional on the phone.
* Strong and self-confident communicator comfortable speaking with Director Level and C-Level contacts.
* Proven Track Record in over-achieving quarterly and annual goals.
* Credible security industry knowledge spanning traditional security disciplines and emerging security trends.
* Must have knowledge of Internet Security landscape.
* Must have high ethics, integrity, and humility and be able to work with other teams.
* Ability to build and maintain high credibility with both Akamai sales teams and strategic customers.
* Formal sales training: Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling training preferred.
