About the Job
The Security Renewal Specialist is a quota carrying sales professional with security industry knowledge spanning traditional security disciplines and emerging security trends. The primary goal of the Security Renewal Specialist is to partner with Integrated Account Teams, Sales Operations and Customer Success Manager Teams to protect existing revenues by proactively gathering contract details and renewal information for existing security customers.
About the Team
This role will report into the RVP of Americas Security Sales. This team is responsible for capturing renewals of existing customer across of our new and emerging security solutions across all verticals within North America.
Responsibilities:
* Generate repeat sales by proactively contacting the IAT with expiring security services.
* Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific services.
* Present pricing and terms in accordance with standard procedures.
* Accurately process customer transactions, including quotes and legal documents and post them into the accurate salesforce.com account and/opportunity records.
* Proactively recommend products or services needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction quality.
* Work closely with Major Account Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Partner Account Manager and Security Specialists to avoid conflicts and generate revenue.
* Track all activity in SalesForce.com.
* Manage and forecast the renewal pipeline for Security products within salesforce.com.
* Evangelize Akamai’s Security portfolio internally (with sales).
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
* 4+ years of customer renewal experience Sales experience.
* 2+ years of experience in the network and/or application security field.
Desired Qualifications
* Proven experience of being persuasive, influential and professional on the phone.
* Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
* Strong and self-confident communicator comfortable speaking with Director Level and C-Level contacts.
* Proven Track Record in over-achieving quarterly and annual goals.
* Credible security industry knowledge spanning traditional security disciplines and emerging security trends.
* Must have knowledge of Internet Security landscape.
* Must have high ethics, integrity, and humility and be able to work with other teams.
* Ability to build and maintain high credibility with all Akamai cross functional.
