About the Job
The Web Experience team is for a Program Manager II to work with talented cross-functional teams around the world on mission critical programs. In this role, you will be managing complex programs related to infrastructure improvements, collaborating closely with product, engineering, operations, services, and support teams. This role will have visibility at executive levels of leadership as you report on the status of key programs in our business unit.
About the Team
The Web Experience Programs & Operations team has responsibility for ensuring our group is effective in meeting ambitious goals. Our Business Unit is responsible for the development of Akamai’s Web and Application Solutions, including Aqua Ion and Terra Alta. Our products improve the speed, reliability, and security of thousands of web sites and web applications running on the Internet. By leveraging Akamai's globally distributed Intelligent Platform, we can uniquely solve technology problems of performance and security.
Responsibilities:
* Define a clear framework for managing escalations from the field regarding production customer issues related to SSL certificates and other technologies.
* Work with key stakeholders in the Web Experience Business Unit, Platform Division, and Service & Support organizations.
* Manage dependencies between multiple programs and resolve conflicts while working in an environment with ambiguity.
* Ensure that geographically dispersed teams are communicating effectively based on broad understanding of the organization.
* Analyze, propose, and implement changes in business operations and technical processes.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years experience working with software development, operational, or customer-facing teams on mission critical systems.
* 3+ years experience managing complex technical programs across teams and across geographies.
* 3+ years experience writing clear and concise training guides, program plans, or other documents.
Desired Qualifications
* Familiarity with basic and secure Internet technologies (e.g. TCP, HTTP, TLS, SSL, etc).
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly responsible, self-disciplined, creative, and confident.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines to help address time-sensitive issues.
