About the Job
As the Senior Incident Response Program Manager, you will help shape the IT incident response program in the CIO orgarnization and play a major role in the evolution of the Akamai’s Incident management program. You will be responsible for identifying, measuring and managing information security incidents, developing plans and reports, and overseeing the implementation of the security incident program. You will work closely with various CIO org departments and InfoSec to provide incident management guidance and also manage security incidents for the Enterprise Security Services team. As a program manager in security you will be an information security advocate and will advise key stakeholders and service owners of their roles and responsibilities when it comes to incident management and how to effectively balance security risk and business requirements.
About the Team
The Enterprise Security Services team is charged with identifying, assessing, and appropriately managing risks to Akamai’s digital assets and information systems. The team evaluates the options for dealing with information security risks, and works with departments throughout Akamai to decide upon and then implement controls that appropriately and proactively respond to these same risks.
The Enterprise Security Services team works closely with the Enterprise Architecture and InfoSec groups to provide security architecture oversight across Akamai’s corporate landscape, assisting with the design and risk assessment of enterprise applications and computing resources.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the Enterprise Security Services team incident management activities supporting Akamai enterprise-wide computer and network teams during the resolution of severe security incidents.
* Develop security incident response procedures and conduct regular incident response tabletop and postmortem exercises.
* Participate in technical meetings and working groups that address topics related to security incidents, forensic analysis, malware security, preservation of evidence when needed.
* Coordinate the communication and notifications process between CIO org and other teams during of high severity incidents.
* Assist our internal Security Operations Team (SOC) with the processes and procedures for triaging incidents.
* Coordinate and monitor the progress of relevant EntSec Security projects including with Vulnerability Management and Security Monitoring.
* Manage the Akamai Security Awareness program, prioritizing the social engineering training for critical areas /departments / executives of the company.
* Work with other Program Managers / Program Directors in the CIO org to align EntSec programs with other departments.
* Develop metrics that measures program effectiveness and report to senior management.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security or similar discipline or equivalent education or experience.
* Minimum 10 years of professional experience, managing initiatives in a consulting or technology environment.
* Minimum 5 years of applicable knowledge of information security concepts and trends, and relevant security regulatory requirements.
* 5 years of project management experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Strong ability to influence others to achieve complex objectives and the ability to handle pressure against tight deadlines.
* Willingness to pursue security training (CISSP, Certified Incident Handler – GCIH).
* Demonstrated expertise in the areas of Enterprise Incident Management, Information Security, and Project Management.
* Ability to clearly and confidently voice and disseminate information, incident status, and processes to large groups via conference calls and emails.
* Ability to interact with personnel at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and to comprehend complex business initiatives.
* Ability to anticipate and respond to changing priorities, and operate effectively in a dynamic demand-based environment, requiring extreme flexibility and responsiveness.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work under minimal supervision.
