Due to our tremendous growth we are looking for driven, smart and experienced sales executives who can foster and develop existing client relationships and usage as well as the ability to drive new customer acquisitions to join our fun and fast paced team. Our sales organization offers the unique culture of a “startup” feel with the actual security of proven success. Akamai’s Inside Sales Representative is responsible for the sales cycle for new customers - from lead generation to deal closure by creating the demand within their region across all business verticals and assigned accounts.

Responsibilities:

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving new customer sales over the phone, owning the sales cycle from end to end. The Inside Sales Representative will have a defined vertical focus and concentrate on Akamai’s Emerging Customer segment. Responsibilities include generating new business through prospecting with outbound calling, email, inbound inquiries and marketing/tradeshow events. The ISR will be responsible for articulating the Akamai value proposition, generating interest in Akamai services and managing sales cycles through closure for Akamai solutions.

* You will be expected to meet or exceed monthly new business and new customer acquisition targets.
* Generate new sales opportunities in your defined vertical through aggressive prospecting, networking and marketing.
* Extensive territory planning in assigned region and prospect research within specific industry verticals and Akamai solutions.
* Ability to develop a ‘Why Akamai, Why Now’ proposition for each call.
* Proactively identify and find new business leads for your territory.
* Manage individual pipeline of opportunities to support monthly goals.
* Support of internal industry or solution specific marketing campaigns and events.
* Close co-operation with the vertical field sales team to develop industry expertise collaborate on appropriate opportunities.
* Make use of prospecting support tools such as OneSource, Hoovers and the Marketing Lead Development Center in Bangalore.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
* BA/BS with 2 years experience in an inside sales, prospecting role or customer facing roles, ideally within IT or New Media.
* Strong and self-confident communicator comfortable speaking with Director level and C-Level contacts.
* Proven experience of being persuasive, influential and professional on the phone.
* Strong skills in identifying opportunities.
* Experience and understanding of the Internet and related services.
* Credible experience in and knowledge of Media & Entertainment, Hi-Tech, or Retail Industries.
