About the Job
We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated sales executive to drive our mobile sales efforts in North and Latin America. This individual will be responsible for mobile revenue and selling Web Devision products in the region. They will also lead mobile business opportunities with carriers while working with CESG (Carriers Sales and Engagement Group) and supporting media sales opportunities while working with the Akamai media sales team. Lastly, this person will help shape product marketing in the region and product specification for the region as well.
About the Team
Akamai’s Web Division is a new Business Unit dedicated to owning and driving mobile innovation at Akamai. Our products address challenges faced by mobile network operators as well as Akamai media customers.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for Web Division revenue in the region.
* Develop new and manage existing mobile business opportunities with mobile network operators in the Americas.
* Quarterback technical resources to advance product validation and testing toward commercial enablement.
* Work with Akamai resellers in Latin America to advance opportunities remotely and through frequent customer visits.
* Coordinate and manage director and c-level committees between MNO's and Akamai.
* Participate in product and marketing related meetings and help shape the Web Division mobile strategy for the region.
* Travel across the U.S. as well as Mexico, Brazil and surrounding countries.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field.
* 10+ years of business development experience.
* 5+ years of experience selling to mobile network operators.
* Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Desired Qualifications
* Education: Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field.
* Language skills: Fluent Spanish and\or Portuguese.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a broad range of technical and business audiences.
* Understanding of Media and Analytics in the Telco space.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote environment and multiple time zones.
* Ability to gather data from the market and customers to analytically determine business priorities.
* Desire for on-going challenges and interest in continuously learning about new technologies.
* Understanding of CDN technology and market.
* Situational fluency, ability to influence and motivate others and perseverance to handle challenging business situations.
