Overview:The Development Tools team maintains the systems that all of the other development teams use on a day-to-day basis – including things like source control, buildsystem, bug tracking and release tracking systems. As an intern on this team you will have the opportunity to do something that improves the quality of work life for your peers in engineering, and you will enjoy the relatively rare advantage of having your “customers” be the people sitting right next you. The exact project will depend on your aptitude and interests.
Responsibilities:
* Improve DevTools’ offerings to our internal users in one or more of the following areas: Buildsystem, Release tracking, Source tracking, Bug and Vulnerability tracking, Project tracking.
* Apply your expertise in a variety of potential technologies: Ruby-on-rails, Perl, Python, PHP, Java, SQL.
* Interact with users, peers, and manager to define functional requirements for your project.
* Work independently and in a team environment to go from requirements to building actual deploying software.
* Provide support and maintenance for your project after it is deployed based on user feedback.
Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelors in Computer Science or related field and returning to the program after completion of the internship.
* Skilled in at least one major programming language such as Ruby-on-Rails, Java, Perl, C/C++, Python.
* Able to work independently with minimal direction.
* Strong communication skills, able to seek out peers on own to help refine requirements and gather feedback.
