Overview:With hundreds of thousands of servers deployed all around the World, Akamai is relying on its highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and adaptable Monitoring System to tell us what is happening with every deployed server. We're looking for a passionate top-notch C++ hacker to simplify the system’s real-time reconfiguration to allow such reconfiguration to be performed by teams around Akamai other than Monitoring System’s maintainers. Your enhancements will be appreciated by many people, including Monitoring System maintainers (fewer interruptions), other teams (their changes are done faster and on their own schedule), and Akamai customers (who always appreciate a fast response to their requests). The code you write will be deployed on all Akamai servers world-wide.
Responsibilities:
* Design improvements to Akamai Monitoring System in collaboration with Monitoring System’s developers.
* Implement your designs and be passionate about your code quality.
* Implement tests to validate your changes and prevent less capable hands from breaking them in the future.
* Document your new system to make sure we do not have to call you at 7am on Saturday to figure out what you did.
Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing Bachelors in related field and returning to the program after completion of the internship.
* Minimum qualifications.
