About the Job
Akamai is looking for software quality assurance engineer with automation skills to work with the engineering and quality teams to build system-level test automation and execute automated and manual tests for some of Akamai’s most interesting and complex technologies. You will be responsible for testing the performance, reliability, scalability, and functionality of Akamai's mapping and control systems, which are the heart and soul of Akamai’s solutions. This team works closely with Development, Program Management, and Operations to test and deploy some of the most innovative and scalable software solutions in the world.
About the Team
The Platform Quality Assurance group is responsible for extensive testing across multiple technologies developed at Akamai. This group is knowledgeable about all these technologies and focuses on real-world, end-to-end testing to ensure all of Akamai's systems integrate well. In addition, this group works on automated testing infrastructure and systematic test case tracking to increase efficiency within the quality assurance process.
Responsibilities:
* Understanding of the SQA life cycle from functional requirements gathering to the design and execution of automated and manual system level tests.
* Design testing tools, which include: developing scripts to enhance regression testing.
* Perform and participate in all aspects of verification including requirements gathering, feature and functional testing, unit testing, regression, load and performance testing.
* Develop creative and competent analysis to identify root causes of technical problems while developing resolutions.
* Design, develop, and deploy automated system tests to replicate real-world scenarios.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
* Overall Experience: Minimum of 1+ years experience in software or system quality assurance.
* 1+ years experience developing scripts and test automation.
* 1+ years technical working experience with UNIX/Linux OS environments and HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP.
* 1+ years experience in Programming with one or more languages of the following languages: Perl, Python, Java, C/C++, and/or Shell scripting.
Desired Qualifications
* Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
* Experience working in a fast-paced and or agile software development process.
