About the Job
The Sales Manager for Security Solutions will own the overall Security Partner Profile, Target List, Recruitment, Development, Solution Profile, and business development strategy for this strategic new Route to Market. The qualified candidate will be the team leader for the Americas Channel recruitment and development of Managed Security Service Providers as Akamai channel partners. This resource will be responsible for designing channel security strategy, selecting the ideal target partners, structuring relationships, negotiating agreements, and leading the go-to-market planning for the execution of these channel partnerships. This individual will be a Subject Matter Expert in the Security space and will have demonstrable expertise in leading Akamai to a successful channel model for delivering Akamai’s security solutions. This person must also be able to work seamlessly with other team member partnership owners, business unit stakeholders, and key company go-to-market resources.
The Sales Manager for Partner Security Solutions will be an expert among a team of experts in their respective knowledge focus areas. You will grow the Americas security practice through signing scalable partnership agreements, and you will lead the creation of a successful go-to-market plan for each new channel partnership. The role is for a person looking to be a motivated leader to a partnership organization designed to scale in a competitive marketplace.

The team includes solutions areas experts that drive new partnership agreements based on their respective solution areas. The team is made up of industry leading sales partner executive managers with specific talent on creating lasting business relationships which deliver breakthrough revenue results. This organization is responsible for defining the partner strategy and working to ensure the program success. The organization leads the process of creating these partnership agreements and executing them in the marketplace. The team has highly motivated members looking to be leaders within an organization that will secure Akamai as the leader in the performance and Cloud security.
Responsibilities:
* To become “The Security Solution Sales Team Leader” for the Americas Channel Organization with a trusted relationship both within the America’s partner organization and within Akamai.
* To solve for complex partnering security Cloud / SaaS solutions which will deliver unique value to Akamai, our Partners, and Customers.
* Select, recruit, and close new partners that are the best fit for Akamai security solutions. Learn a partner’s business and be able to effectively represent their business within Akamai.
* To lead the partner business, develop successful solutions, and execute them in the market using all product, marketing, and sales tools required to achieve such results.
* Develop and execute a successful channel sales and program strategy that anticipate trends and changes in the marketplace, adjusts to market requirements and competitive threats and delivers consistent results.
* Be a leader in driving Americas results based improvements, best practices and innovative solutions to accelerate Akamai’s evolution to a world class partnering organization.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Education: Bachelors Degree.
* Minimum 10 years of experience with successful channel/partner sales management experience with enterprise software, web/cloud services.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in security specialized sales and business development / solutions experience.
Desired Qualifications
* 10+ plus years successfully selling plus partnering to sell Security / Cloud/ SaaS solutions.
* Consistent track record of achieving quota attainment and breakthrough partnerships.
* Strong team player.
* Outstanding leadership qualities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
* Hybrid experience of both highly technical, business. And sales experience in the high-tech software industry.
* High social skills and ability to learn, understand trends, and convince a potential partner to reach agreement for new and unique solutions.
* A history of successfully executing new partner agreements in the market with success.
