About the Job:
Akamai’s Network Infrastructure team is looking for a Technical Writer to produce and update documentation and training materials.
About the Team:
The Network Infrastructure organization is responsible for Akamai’s EdgePlatform - one of the world’s largest distributed platforms. This platform handles a significant portion of the world’s web traffic.
As a member of our Network Training team, you will document the Network Infrastructure Engineering team’s role in building and maintaining the deployed network. You will produce and revise training materials including documentation, self-paced learning modules, and presentations.
You will work closely with subject matter experts in Akamai’s Network Infrastructure Engineering group as well as technical experts across the Network Infrastructure organization.
Responsibilities:
- Revising existing internal documentation and authoring new technical documentation pertaining to the deployment and maintenance of the Akamai network.
- Revising and authoring training materials for our Network Infrastructure Engineering team.
- Defining style guidelines and ensuring that all documentation is internally consistent with these guidelines.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or a similar discipline, or equivalent experience
- 1+ year experience writing or editing for a technical audience
- 1+ year experience creating training or educational materials for a technical audience
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal, technical writing, and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of English spelling and grammar
- Familiarity with technical computing terms, especially network-related terminology
- Experience working with a Web-based content development platform or a text markup language
