About the Job

As a Senior Compliance Architect, you will swiftly and deeply understand the compliance implications of new technology. You will analyze Akamai and third-party technology, with a focus on finding the intersection between compliance needs and security needs. You will explain the risks and rewards of technology and business choices, making recommendations based on these analyses. You will lead others in solving Akamai's technology and business problems in ways that not only comply with required standards, but also contribute materially to the security of Akamai's systems. You will provide expert advice during security incidents, communicating technical ideas to technical and non-technical audiences clearly in speech and prose. You will design, build, and support tools for use by you and your team.

About the Team

Akamai's InfoSec Team is responsible for safeguarding the security of the business, from corporate information security through production systems, to customer product security. We engage with every organization at Akamai to support ongoing projects, ensuring security is injected through out process lifecycles. We design security solutions, investigate security incidents, conduct compliance audits, track, manage, and mitigate vulnerabilities, design security systems, and build trusted relationships with our customers.

Responsibilities:

*Review new technologies and products for compliance implications.
*Advise, and educate the rest of the company on matters of compliance and security.
*Collaborate with Engineering and Operations in the design and construction of new products.
*Collaborate with Engineering and Operations in the design of new compliance controls where needed for new or existing products and technologies.
*Automate routine parts of the security compliance role to augment the rest of the company's abilities.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

*4 years or more of experience designing secure complex distributed systems.
*2 years or more of experience with compliance standards such as PCI, ISO27002, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and/or FedRAMP
*Bachelor’s degree in computer science, operations research, or related field.

Desired Qualifications

*Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing to both technical and business audiences.
*Responsible, self-disciplined, and motivated.
*Experience with formal methods of computer science.
*Systems programming security experience.
*A mathematical inclination.
*A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
*Exceptional fluency in English.
*Excellent technical aptitude and a desire to learn constantly.
