The Akamai Human Resources (HR) team guides and coaches managers in effective HR and management strategies and practices that positively impact our dynamic business. This role is an important part of the HR team ensuring consistency in our practices and advocating for field employees and managers.



About the Job
As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) team member you will be an integral part of the Human Resources strategic business initiatives during a transformational time, working closely with peers and the Centers of Expertise (COEs), in support of a segment of the Global Sales Services and Marketing (GSSM) organization. You'll be on the front line of assisting and interacting with employees. In partnership with your HRBP peers, you'll perform both hands-on and strategic roles in providing and applying human resources expertise in employee relations, coaching, conflict management, training and HR program implementation. You will drive processes that support change and optimize the company’s investment in human capital while ensuring alignment and support of corporate culture and business initiatives.

Responsibilities:

* Assess culture, market and employee trends. Educate GSSM employees on effective HR practices that will positively affect the business.
* Coordinate with other HR Business Partners on shared issues and solutions.
* Manage complex investigations in a way that mitigates legal and organizational exposure; assess the severity, involve appropriate individuals and facilitate appropriate action based on established practice.
* HR-related communications rollout, ensuring that business leaders are prepared to address HR programs and processes with accuracy and following the HR calendar.
* Collaborate with appropriate COE organizations and peer HRBPs to gather information, address concerns proactively, and ensure business compliance with HR programs.
* Ensures that business leaders are making decisions and taking actions that are in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
* Assist in the development, design and execution of corporate HR programs and projects. Must possess the initiative and capability to own and drive a program or project to completion with little to no supervision.
* Improve manager and employee performance by pro-actively identifying and assessing problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
* Partner with COEs (within HR and external to HR) to actively manage the GSSM employee life cycle; pro-actively identify trends, gaps in process, support, capabilities and/or efficiencies and address to resolution.
* Complete special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
* Manage expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports.
* Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
* Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
* Minimum 8 years of related HR experience preferably in a global, high-growth, changing environment ideally in high tech.
* Ability to travel occasionally (around 10%).

Desired Qualifications
* Masters Degree in related field.
* Able to address difficult issues and make tough decisions.
* Skilled at driving change, shaping culture, influencing leadership, managing risk and ensuring compliance.
* Full knowledge of legal implications of the employment relationship in the U.S.
* Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentations skills.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Solutions mindset.
* Experience with multi-location employee relations.
* Demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment.
* Excellent project management skills along with negotiation and mediation skills.
* Versatility, flexibility and enthusiasm.
