Overview:

About the Job:
Manage the distribution activities for Akamai’s network equipment in assigned region. Coordinator is responsible for fulfillment requirements in all stages of the supply chain cycle. This individual will work closely with Manufacturers, 3PLs, Carriers, Repair Vendors, Customs Brokers and other Akamai Network members. They are expected to maintain accuracy of network assets in region with proper coordination/planning with various groups within Network Infrastructure. High volume order fulfillment experience is required, and crucial to the role. Position reports to Logistics Operations Manager and is supervised by Senior Lead.

About the Team:
The Logistics Group is part of Network Infrastructure. We work with Partner Developers, Provisioning, Deployment, Strategy, and Network Support to deploy and maintain the Akamai Network. Our primary responsibilities are encapsulated in the management of Akamai’s network equipment from birth to death. This includes, but is not limited to, import/export, warehousing, distribution, certification, customs regulations compliance, shipping, transportation, procurement, advance exchange, repairs, and asset end of life.

Responsibilities:

- Manage daily operations and performance for one or more of Logistics’ service providers.
- Lead for Deployment related projects in multiple regions.
- Training responsibilities for new hires within group and/or team.
- Negotiate freight and other procurement rates with multiple vendors securing the optimal pricing based on Network criteria.
- Prepare and provide import/export documentation in accordance with established procedures and guidelines to include, but not limited to, Commercial Invoices, Certificates of Origin, Certificates of Conformity, Power of Attorney.
- Accountable for the cost effective, efficient, timely and accurate Order Fulfillment (deployment, maintenance, and deconstruct) of all equipment, parts, and other material in support of Akamai’s global network.
- Accurately process all orders in assigned region utilizing Siebel Sales (asset & order management ERP system) in accordance with order creators’ requirements, protocol, and department SLA.
- Schedules and revises order plans to ensure efficient distribution of products to satisfy internal and external customers.
- Build ad hoc reports to assist with managing orders in queue as they hit set milestones.
- Develop technical understanding of products used in Akamai’s deployed network so that QA can be performed on orders before processing to completion.
- Track, analyze, and report tax, freight and broker charges not captured by traditional methods in Siebel as situation dictate.
- Monitor equipment inventories (flagging inventory discrepancies, correcting, and communicating activity to the procurement group).
- Display a strong sense of urgency in researching, tracking and correcting shipping problems, working directly with vendors to resolve issues in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Work directly with international/domestic vendors (Customs Brokers, 3PLs, Carriers, Manufacturers, etc.) to ensure swift delivery of equipment requested on orders.
- Liaise with internal groups to develop procedures to ensure accuracy of information in database.
- Compare freight quotes from multi carriers, factoring all miscellaneous charges before making final selection.
- Contact Network Partners to resolve past due RMAs for unreturned defective equipment.
- Update internal WIKI with any and all process changes impacting region and vendors.
- Escalate unresolved issues to correct stakeholders and providing support until closed.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in related field.
- Minimum 5 years related experience within the global distribution, order fulfillment and supply chain management industry.
- Minimum2 years of experience with international shipping and required documents.
- Minimum 3 years of intimate knowledge of transportation industry carriers, 3PLS, and their services.

Desired Qualifications:
- Familiar with Advance Exchange Programs – parts replacement and repairs.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to perform highly detailed work.
- Strong computer skills with MS Access and MS Excel experience.
- Familiarity with WMS platforms, ie SAP.
- Exposure to Siebel Sales a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, financial and operational.
- Exceptional communications skills, written, verbal, and diplomatic.
- Solid forecasting and procurement experience.
- Proven vendor management experience.
- Excellent project management experience.
- MBA in related field.
