About the Team
The Web Experience Engineering team has responsibility for the technologies that power our Web and Application Solutions. Our technologies improve the speed, reliability, and security of thousands of websites and web applications running on the Internet. By leveraging Akamai's globally distributed Intelligent Platform, we can uniquely solve technology problems and exceed fundamental limitations of site performance and security.
Responsibilities:
* Create, maintain, and execute manual test to replicate real-world scenarios involving complex distributed systems.
* Work closely with developers and architects to design test criteria and automated tests.
* Collaborate with cross-functional team members within and across business units to leverage internal product knowledge and expertise.
* Work in parallel on more than one QA project at a time, efficiently managing time and prioritizing test efforts.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
* 5+ years of experience testing or developing mission-critical systems in a UNIX/LINUX environment.
* 3+ years of experience developing test scripts and test automation (i.e. Perl, Python, JavaScript, shell scripting, Selenium etc).
* 3+ years of experience working with common internet protocols such as HTTP or TCP/IP.
* 3+ years of experience working with virtual machines and client/server applications.
Desired Qualifications
* Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Strong team player that enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
*Highly responsible, self-disciplined, creative, and confident.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines while responding to changing business and technical conditions.
* Passion to understand, learn and evaluate new technologies.
