About the Job
Our team is looking for a technically inclined Program Manager to coordinate programs, tasks and projects which span across the business units globally. The Program Manager will assist the core team to drive critical business and technical programs, tracking milestones and report on goals and achievements.
About the Team
Compliance Security oversees the assessment of Akamai’s products. We work with assessors and auditors to ensure compliance with PCI DSS 3.1, ISO 27002, HIPAA, and SOC2. These efforts include continuous monitoring endeavors.
Responsibilities:
* Work with key stakeholders in various business units at Akamai.
* Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects/programs.
* Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
* Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
* Develop a detailed project/program plan to monitor and track progress.
* Manage changes to the program scope, program schedule, and program costs using appropriate verification techniques
* Measure program performance using appropriate tools and techniques
* Report and escalate to management as needed
* Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
* Perform risk management to minimize project risks
* Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
* Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Work experience of 2yrs or more.
* Bachelor’s Degree or comparable experience.
* At least 1 year relevant work experience of project or program management in a technology company
* At least 1 year project management experience (professional or volunteer)
Desired Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment
* Ability to effectively work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities
* Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
* Analytical and problem solving skills are required
* Experience working both independently and on teams
* Strong customer service / consulting services orientation
* Preferred 2-5 years proven history of success influencing both business owners and developers
* Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
* Good understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
* Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
* Highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated, able to work with little or no supervision.
* Extensive experience working on multiple projects at a time in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines while responding to changing business and technical conditions.
* Strong working knowledge of program management tools.
