About the Job
The Partner Account Executive for Cloud Services Partners is responsible for generating new partner relationships, pipeline development and building relationships with prospective Akamai Cloud Services partners. These partners will be US based, with a primary focus on Platform as a Service and Software as a Service. This individual will recruit and close new target partners following the Cloud Services Partners strategy.
About the Team
The Americas Channels team consists of a group of industry leading professionals dedicated to driving the development and growth of the Akamai Channel Sales and Delivery program. Akamai’s Channels team is responsible for the sales, marketing, business development and support of Akamai’s Channel partners. The Channel partner program includes relationships with Tier-1 System Integrators, Service Providers, Re-sellers and Cloud Service Partners (formerly called VARs).
Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain a new partner pipeline sufficient to achieve/exceed quota objectives as measured by bookings.Execute a territory coverage plan leveraging direct contact and selling efforts with partners.
* Champion and maintain superior relationships with key partner execs, stakeholders and Akamai channel and product teams.
* Communicate Akamai’s value proposition through in-person meetings, conference calls, sales activities, trainings and other events.
* Provide and coordinate sales, technical and administrative support as needed.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's Degree.
* Overall experience: 7+ years of Sales experience, preferably while leveraging a value-added reseller channel.
* Ability to travel 30-50%.
Desired Qualifications
* Strong negotiation, solution-selling and presentation skills.
* Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Knowledge of how Akamai’s technology, coupled with third-party technologies, is leveraged to solve media delivery, application, security and performance challenges.
* Specialized knowledge of managed services, business application networking environments, data networking security and performance based solutions.
* Successful sales track record and quota achievement in both direct and indirect sales roles preferred.
