About the Job
The Security Sales Specialist is a quota carrying sales professional with strong security industry knowledge, demonstrated sales success, and enterprise customer selling experience. The Security Sales Specialist will generate new security sales with existing and green-field customers. The Specialist will deliver the new sales via the Security Specialist’s individual selling efforts, and by teaming with Akamai Major Account Executives (MAE) teammates.
About the Team
This role will report into the RVP of Americas Security Sales. This team is responsible for driving the adoption of our new and emerging technologies across all verticals within the New England.
Responsibilities:
* Generate new security sales within the existing Akamai customer base.
* Generate new security sales with green-field customers.
* Develop and manage sufficient pipeline to meet and exceed sales goals.
* Evangelize Akamai’s Security portfolio to the Akamai MAE sales teammates.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
* 7+ years IT sales experience.
* including 3+ years selling to large enterprise customers.
* including 3+ years web / internet security sales experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Proven Track Record in over-achieving quarterly and annual goals.
* Deep security industry knowledge spanning traditional security disciplines and emerging security trends.
* Strong background in Internet infrastructure and/or enterprise solution software required.
* Strong background in Web based applications a plus.
* Experience in successfully executing complex sales cycles with CXOs.
* Experience selling complex solutions to the Global 2000 or Fortune 500 Company List.
* Ideal candidates will bring with them a range of Internet industry-related contacts.
* Must have high ethics, integrity, and humility and be able to work with other teams.
* Ability to build and maintain high credibility with both Akamai sales teams and strategic customers.
* Formal sales training: Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling training preferred.
