About the Job
The Regional Sales Manager - Security will lead the eastern US security sales field team in its mission to deliver security sales results. The RSM – Security will own responsibility for the team’s sales results, recruiting and retaining top talent and executing the go-to-market selling strategy. The successful RSM candidate will have the following attributes and qualities: a proven record of leading IT security sales teams in meeting and exceeding team sales targets; a proven ability to work with enterprise customers in the formulation of their security needs, develop and provide solution alternatives that meet or exceed said customer needs, and in turn secure a customer order for one or more of the proposed solution alternatives; an ability to recruit and retain top sales talent.
About the Team
The RSM – Security will report to the RVP Security Sales for the Americas. The RSM – Security will initially lead a team of skilled sales professionals, with the intent to grow the team in both size and scope as dictated by team sales success.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the Americas eastern sales region team in achieving its sales targets.
* Recruit and retain high-performance IT security sales talent.
* Execute the Akamai security go-to-market strategy.
* Drive Security product and technology sales within greenfield and existing customers, prospects, and partners.
* Work with product management to influence the security product road-map and go-to-market strategy.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree, comparable military background or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years IT security sales management experience.
* 10+ years solution sales, including 7+ years IT security sales to enterprise accounts.
Desired Qualifications
* A “lead by example” manager with the ability to execute the sales process including talk-tracks, proposal development, competitive positioning and competitive differentiators.
* Proven ability to present strategies at the executive level.
* Possess a deep knowledge of the IT security industry; including hardware and software technologies.
* An ability to build and maintain high credibility with strategic customers.
* Able to provide strategic sales guidance for complex sales campaigns.
* A record of success selling complex solutions to Global 2000 and Fortune 500 caliber companies.
* Formal sales training: Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling training preferred.
