About the Job
The Senior Payroll Analyst will take the lead role in the oversight and processing Akamai’s bi-weekly payroll for 2500+ employees in the US and Americas for this fast paced and growing technology firm. This highly visible role will have deep experience in payroll systems, local laws, and taxation as it applies to payrolls, collaboration work with HR operations team, and have general ledger, payroll accounting, and SOX controls. The successful candidate will also have strong project management skills. He/she will be involved in various projects that may include improving systems and business processes among various finance and HR teams. The right candidate has a path for growth and managing opportunities.

About the Team
The Global Payroll and Equity Department is globally distributed and primarily based in Cambridge, MA with supporting staff located in the following regions: India, Japan, and Poland. The Global Payroll Department is responsible for both the management and processing of all payroll and equity transactions and reports to the Controllership team. This Senior Payroll Analyst will be based in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities:

* Ownership of the timely and accurate processing of all US payrolls using ADP web based solutions.
* Successful management of Akamai’s relationship with ADP in the US.
* Provide a high level of customer service to Akamai employees and Business Partners
* Administer multiple payroll interfaces and systems.
* Advance current process improvement initiatives as payroll technology and the Akamai landscape evolve over time.
* Book entries in the General Ledge, prepare and review reconciliations as needed.
* Maintain a strong control environment and ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as it relates to international payroll.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years of experience processing US payrolls for a population of 1,000 or more employees.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience with payroll and payroll tax regulations.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience with 401k employee deferrals, loans, funding and audits.

Desired Qualifications
* CPP Preferred.
* Experience with ADP Payforce, ADP Connection, Oracle and Paychex is a plus.
* Knowledge of equity compensation and related tax impacts.
* Experience with 401k employee deferrals, loans, funding and audits.
* Comprehensive understanding of payroll and its role within the organization.
* Strong Excel skills.
* Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
* Proven ability to maintain and troubleshoot multiple system interfaces.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to prioritize, organize and execute issues.
