About the Job

We are looking for high-energy, driven professionals with sound business acumen, strong technical aptitude and natural sales instincts to join our Marketing Lead Qualification Team as a Lead Development Representative. You will gain experience interacting with clients of all levels, in a variety of industries and across a broad geographical area in the Americas.

The Lead Development Representative (LDR) is responsible for responding to inbound marketing inquiries with the goal of qualifying the contact as a ‘sales ready” lead for Akamai’s Field or Inside Sales teams. The LDR role collaborates closely with both Marketing and Sales. Success is primarily measured by volume of high quality Sales Accepted Leads (SALs).

About the Team

The critical LDR Team is designed to manage inbound inquiries cultivated by marketing and convert them to sales opportunities. The LDR is often times the first interaction with Akamai and must always deliver a excellent first impression. The Team is focused on ensuring every person expressing interest in Akamai solutions has a great experience, from receiving relevant information for their exploration to engaging them with a Sales Executive.

Responsibilities:

* Engage inbound marketing inquiries in a relevant business discussion designed to uncover quality sales opportunities.
* Create a great first impression to our prospects by providing them with a world-class experience.
* Become knowledgeable on Akamai portfolio for Akamai Web Performance, Security and Media products to engage in high-level business and technical dialog, addressing key value propositions and objections.
* Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads with creative follow-up communications designed to increase customer interest in Akamai products.
* Achieve monthly quotas of marketing sourced qualified opportunities, in addition to other targets including internal SLAs, volume and frequency of contacts, lead conversion percentage, bookings and campaign metrics.
* Engage with the marketing team to provide feedback on demand programs in order to drive the optimal responses and conversion.
* Professionally communicate with all appropriate levels of decision makers and influencers.
* Communicate with prospects in a consultative selling environment.
* Expertly research companies and contacts via web and internal tools/services.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

* College Degree or 1-3 years of experience in a similar role with a track record of success.
* Experience with software technology, marketing automation, CRM (Salesforce.com).
* Experience in a selling environment or passion for sales or marketing career.
* Proven ability to handle significant volume of outbound activity = 200 (+) calls per week.
* Excellent verbal (phone) and written (email) skills.
* Aptitude and interest in technology trends, developments & best practices.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* High energy and positive attitude.
* Ability to take initiative.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

* Experience Closing new customer business in a B2B environment.
